Love in Action

Today's Scripture

1 John 3:18

John writes: Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

It is easy to say "I love you" but much harder to show love through our actions—especially when it is inconvenient, costly, or uncomfortable.

True love is demonstrated, not just declared.

This truth hits home in our relationships. Do we tell people we love them but fail to serve them in practical ways? Do we say we care about others but never actually help anyone in need?

What does love in action look like? Maybe it is helping a struggling friend, spending time with someone who is lonely, forgiving someone who hurt you, serving your family when you are tired, or sacrificing your comfort for another's good.

Jesus is our ultimate example. He did not just tell us He loved us—He demonstrated it by giving His life for us. May we follow His example, loving others not just with our words, but with our actions and in truth.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive me for times when my love has been only words. Help me to love others the way Jesus loved me—with actions that demonstrate Your heart. Show me practical ways to serve and bless those around me today. Amen.
